Rare European three piece desk/cupboard c.1680 in walnut. Has wrought iron nails throughout and wrought iron handles on each section. Fine old mellow patina that only time can create. Beautifully carved front motif. Cases of all three sections are of dovetail construction and each piece stacks upon the other. Lid of middle section removed then reattached using screws. Brasses are 18th century or older. Multiple minor repairs spanning the history of the piece, all well done by skilled craftsmen. One of the shoe feet is later, probably early 19th century. No evidence of worm or other bug infestation. Secondary wood of the back and interior is all oak. Some locks and all the hinges are original. Doors are mortise and tenon construction. Totally functional with upper and lower storage space and all drawers work properly. This piece is for someone who wants something that no one else has. Measures 84"tall x 39"wide(maximum) x 22"deep(maximum).
