Fine pair of 19th century oil paintings by Clinton Loveridge(NYC 1824-1902), both signed C. Loveridge and dated 1890 and 1891. Both are in their original gilted frames, have their original AD Shattucks stretcher keys, and bear the stencil mark of F.W. Devoe in a circle on the back of the canvas. Loveridge lived most of his life in the Brooklyn, NY area where he painted mostly landscapes. His works have been sold at both Sotheby's and Christie's and he is referenced in "Three Hundred Years of American Art" , "Who was Who in American Art", and other major art sources. The paintings have been professiionally cleaned and one has a small puncture repair. Otherwise, both paintings and frames are in fine condition. The paintings measure 10" x 12"(inframed) and 16" x 18"h(framed).
