This early 20th century figural spelter lamp is signed by the French artist Mednat. There is a French Fabrication medallion stamp located on the back base. The sculpture depicts a child holding what would be a light much larger than herself. The detail is excellent right down to the buttons on the back of her night shirt. Crisp, clear mold, wonderful facial features. Her hands as well as her night gown are beautifully molded. The bronzed finish still perfect.
She is attached to a 2 layer red/ rosa marble base.
The lamp has been rewired for safe use and a new shade added. She could be used with just a night light bulb alone.
The figure as stated is in excellent condition. She is attached securely to the marble base. There is slight chipping to 2 corners of the base but they seem to just blend into the marble.
She stands 14" tall with the shade. From the bottom of the base to the top of her head she measures 8 7/8" . The base is 4 1/2" square.
