A charming Victorian chromo lithograph print depicting 24 familiar flowering plants, the first 12 of which form a list of flowers of the year with the month to which they are appropriate. Published by Funk & Wagnall in the subscribers edition of their Standard Dictionary of the English Language in 1900. Flowers depicted include: Snowdrop, various Roses, Violet, Daisy, Hawthorn, Honeysuckle, Water Lily, Morning Glory, Hop, Chrysanthemum, Holly, Larkspur, Cypripedium, Orchid, Goldenrod, Fringed Gentian etc. Sheet size 12" x 8. 1/2" approximately. Condition: Very Good - slight age toning and softening to bottom edge. Printed on semi card stock with plain back.
