English Majolica bread platter "Where reason rules the apprentice obeys "
A good English majolica bread platter moulded with strands of wheat and decorated in a palette of green, brown and tan. Bears the motto " Where reason rules the apprentice obeys ". Date - circa 1870.
Size: 13" wide x 10" deep x 2. 1/4" tall Weight: 41.5 oz 1170 g. All measures approximate.
Condition: A chip to the reverse and to the end of one of the ears of wheat. Some crazing to the glaze and rubs to the highlights. A glaze burst to the O in reason. Please see all photographs and as ever I am happy to send more and answer any questions you may have,
