Flow Blue Watteau Pattern Pitcher Jug New Wharf Pottery Co. 6. 1/8" tall Circa 1878 - 1894
A very good pitcher or jug in the popular Watteau pattern. This example made by the New Wharf Pottery Co. of Burslem in Staffordshire, England between 1878 and 1894, marked to the base and hexagonal in shape. The first of two slightly different sized pitchers I am offering in this pattern by this maker.
Size: height = 6. 1/8" to top of handle. Width = 7" from tip of spout to back of handle. Weight = 16 oz or 450 g. (all measurements approximate)
Condition; Very Good - small glaze flake to underside of base and some minor firing imperfections (see small pin head holes to the glaze) Please see all photographs and as ever I am happy to send more an answer any questions you may have.
