This lovely rosary features fifty-nine sterling silver beads measuring 3mm each, The length measures 13-1/2" to the heart medallion and the drop is 4 1/2 inches long to the cross, so this is a perfect rosary for a grandchild, or young teen. The cross measures 33mm x 20mm wide (1.1/4 inches tall x 3/4 inches wide at the widest part of the cross) The case is crafted in Sterling Silver and marked Wells Sterling on the inside. The case measures 1 3/4" north to south and 1 1/4 " east to west. The overall height is 7/16". The lid is a hinged and is in perfect working order. The case and rosary both have an aged patina. There is a vacant area on top of the box for a monogram if wanted. Simple and classic and in excellent condition
The rosary weighs 9.3 grams and the case weighs 15.8 grams or 25.2 grams total
Wells, Inc. Attleboro, Mass. Founded in 1922 by Raymond L. Wells who first started manufacturing in the old Robinson Bldg. on Railroad Avenue. At one time they advertised that they were the world's largest manufacturer of movable charms. They also manufactured other jewelry.
Wells purchased R. Blackinton & Co. in 1967. In mid-1977 they were combined with Benrus to form Wells Benrus Corp. And, in 1978 Wells Benrus made the decision to leave the jewelry industry but to continue to market its Destino line of leather goods.
