A hard to find and rare Japanese antique nodder doll of a Noh character. He is handmade and hand painted. This lovely Japanese man is currently having his dinner. This Noh character represents a man who has had a stroke, I do not know if a character in a play or the story centered around him, but still looking. We believe this man to be between the ages of 1900-1920. He is in wonderful working condition with a beautiful paint job. This banko nodder is very similar to those represented in the back of the book 'Fanciful Images' by Barry Till. Japanese nodder dolls especially in good condition and working are very rare to find. He is in very good antique condition. He is not marked so we do not know who made him. There are some small chips around the neck possibly where the head hits it.

SIZE: Height: 4 3/4" or 11.02 cm; Width at bottom 5" or 12.7 cm
