This vintage porcelain set of silver and rose trimmed ashtrays are marked 'Dresden Art'. These were a purchase from a local estate sale here in Austin, from a couple that were retiring and had traveled 'all over the world'. Because I do not know much about Dresden, I cannot swear to the age but my best guess is early to mid-20th century. There are just precious as an ashtray can be, in an oval shape with a beveled up rim, they are trimmed in pink tea tree roses and silver. They are marked on the back with what appears to be a stamp of the Dresden crown and the words. 'Dresden Art', as well as an inscribed number which I assume is the pattern number below that, 5362. They are about 3 inches wide and 2 inches tall from left to right, and about 1/2 inch in height.
According to Wiki, The Saxon Porcelain Manufactory in Dresden, often known in English simply as Dresden Porcelain, is a porcelain factory in Freital near Dresden, which was founded in 1872 and still keeps alive the long tradition of European porcelain art.
