This Harmony Kingdom ornament name Bewear the Hare of a rabbit in a basketful of goodies was carved in 1995, exactly 20 years ago according to the production history, although not released until 1999. Probably from the artist's personal experience of reading Beatrix Potter books, as it reminded me of and very much resembles This too was collected during my netsuke craze days, and just because it was so lovely and different. Take either side of the basket off, and see what's inside! It is beautifully made with great detail and color of flowers and fruits in the basket with the rabbit. The artist name is David Lawrence according to the seller, he made this for the "Limited Edition" collection. It reminds me of the story my mom used to read us I believe from Beatrix potter books when the hare got in trouble for getting in the neighbors garden and eating the vegetables. It is in excellent condition no cracks or chips. It is marked on the bottom with the information noted. It comes with the original box which still has the original tag, which is also in good condition. Please see the Harmony Kingdom website for the wonderful story about how they got started in England, as well as their many years of collectible pieces.
