This Japanese mid-century white Porcelain colorful floral vase dates to between the 1940s to 1970s outside of the time when items were marked 'Made in Occupied Japan'. and in our opinion based on the style of the mark. It is a beautiful piece and appears to be handmade. The top and bottom are bordered in an old Japanese border design called renben, in a very colorful manner in overglaze enamels. The rest of the vase is decorated in sakura in many bright and cheerful colors. A small bird sits on a branch among the colorful flowers. The top tim is outlined in gold with gold lines drawn all the way down the vase. It is an excellent gorgeous piece. It is marked on the bottom, 'Made in Japan, Peacock China Company', most surely made for export for this company, no other information found. It was a purchase from the UK, although we can usually find active companies from anywhere in the world with at least their history so most likely closed. Some of the gold around the top rim is worn, otherwise, this vase is in very good condition no cracks or chips. Please see the pictures for the rest of the condition report. This is a very special beautiful vase made in Japan.
