A lovely mid century opal cluster ring in a princess tiered setting. London 1966.
The opals have a delicate luminous quality. They have color variation when moved through light. The predominant color is a pale blue, with pink, dark blue and violet variations. The red halo effect which appears in certain lights on the photographs indicate good quality opals.
The 8 point star setting is 13 mm (1/2 inch) across. The central opal is approximately 4 mm (5/32 inch) in diameter.
The condition is excellent.
The ring is 9 k yellow gold, hallmarked 375,Leopard's head for London assay office, makers mark R Limited, and date stamp L (1966).
