A lovely antique cabochon star sapphire ladies ring. Circa 1900.
The round shaped cabochon sapphire is approximately 7 mm in diameter. It is about 3.5 mm in depth.
The 6 ray star is clearly evident under artificial light.
The color of the sapphire is a deep and very attractive brown.
The ring is 9 k yellow gold (acid tested) and has a 6 claw setting. The shoulders are a beautiful form of love knots, symbolizing eternal love. Symbols are a special inclusion in many pieces of jewelry from the Victorian era, last half of 19th century.
