A handsome example of a French Vintage Men's ring.
The 18 k (hallmarked) ring is typical of the simple, elegant lines found in Deco era jewelry. There are well proportioned lines along the shoulders and at each corner of the gemstone setting.
The band is hallmarked 18ct, and has the French gold fineness mark for 18 k gold. In the form of an eagle with a 3 beside it. This is the fineness mark for jewelry made from 1919 until today.
The gemstone is a very deep purple garnet which is table cut, 8.2 mm (5/16 inches) wide, and 7.2 mm (1/4 inches).
Table cut garnets were often found in Renaissance jewelry, and this lovely gem could have been re set from a 16th century piece of jewelry.
The 18 k yellow band is flat in shape, it is 4 mm (1/8 inch) wide.
The ring size is: 10 (US, Canada); T 1/2 (Australia, NZ, Ireland, UK); 61 3/4 (France); 20 (Germany, Belgium, Scandinavia); 22 (Italy); 20 (Japan, China, India).
