Souvenir of Canada Hinged Wooden Jewellery Trinket Box with Colourful Handpainted Flowers, c. 1940's

This is a nostalgic small wooden box when souvenirs were handmade. The words, "Souvenir of Canada", have been burnt into the front of the lid. Bright red, blue, and white flowers have painted on top of the lid. The box has been protected with clear varnish, except on the bottom and interior.

The box measures app. 3.75 x 2.5 x 1.25 inches. A wavy design has been burnt into the box on the front and sides where the top and bottom of the box meet. The box opens and closes smoothly and securely. The box is in good vintage condition, with signs of age to the paint and varnish, a small crack in the wood on the bottom of the box, and a couple of scuffs. Still a pretty souvenir from about 80 years ago.
