Cut Glass and Silver Vanity Jar.

Beautiful cut glass and silver vanity jar. Silver rim runs along the base and hinged lid providing a lip latch for opening. The bottom design is that of a starburst, with a thumbprint design along the sides, and a fan and hobstar pattern adorns the lid. This lovely piece measures approximately 2 1/2" high, 4 3/4" lid, 3 1/2" opening and 5" bottom diameter. The jar is marked, however, it is not quite clear, one number is 0 and the other number possibly an 8. Possibly a purity number so I tested it. The metal tested positive at 65% - 75% purity for silver. It tested below %92.5 purity and is therefore not sterling or solid silver, but does include an amount of silver in it. Other than two small nicks on the top of the lid and rub marks from use on the bottom this piece is in very nice vintage condition.
