Here is an outstanding hand painted plate by noted professional artist E. Louise Jenkins. It features a vibrant display of well-painted shaded purple, white and yellow pansies, set to a wonderfully executed multishaded background. The soft purple and white plumes that decorate the upper portion of the top rim nicely contribute to a piece that Jenkins used to showcase all of her skill in this subject matter.
Miss Jenkins taught classes in china and water color painting in the early 20th century in Columbus, Ohio. An example of her pansies work was featured in the September 1904 edition of the Keramic Studio magazine.
MEASUREMENTS: it measures 9” across
MAKER: it was painted on a green Limoges T&V France blank. It is signed “E.L. Jenkins”
