Salvaged from a robe Ca 1860, possibly maternity. 25" intact selvages and a length of over 1 1/3 yards! Quite a bit of healthy fabric to work with and form into a day dress for a Huret, Rohmer, Barrois, etc.. I had to buy a new camera, groan, but I think the pictures are truer to the colors, of course I am still struggling as I lack professional skills and rely on a primitive level of completion. Shades of brown, caramel burnt sienna highlighted by wreaths encompassing an impressive deep red, I would call turkey red. The aged tone white brings the final tool to accent this adorable fabric. Please take note of the size of the piece, it is an extra 1/3 yard longer than the usual. Strong and sturdy.
