This is how I bought this! Instead of removing the stitches, this was cut right up the seam! Makes it somewhat harder to date. I believe from a minimal of edge that this is 1870, having been part of a quilt back, there is some length. The color is wonderful, inviting and simple palette of deep cranberry and crisp white. The current width is about 26" and the length is 2 yards with a minor amount of weakness at the top and bottom edges. The picotage background is reminiscent of 1830s, it adds a huge interest. Fabric is strong but a bath might be in order.
