Where to begin. The colors, the brocade, it all eludes me, there are just so many descriptive in my simple vocabulary. I include several pictures which will fail to capture the shifting shades of blue, gray, light gray. Some of the pieces have the remaining wool braid to the bottom edge that was successful in protecting the silk from the travails of the road. Sturdy and strong as the silks from this era are. I sincerely believe the earlier the silk, the stronger the silk.
