This pair of MCM atomic reading lamps are the perfect size for your bedside table. They give off enough light to read, yet not disturb someone sleeping. Made in the 1950’s by an unknown manufacturer, they measure 8 1/4 inches tall and the base is 4 3/4 inches in diameter. They are beautifully styled with the brass and copper angled fixtures and birch bases. They work perfectly, although one bulb is burnt out. They are not your typical size, and I have included a photo of the bulb. The head swivels for your most comfortable angle. The glass shades are quite interesting on their own. They appear to be multi-layered. The bottom layer is textured, similar to coralline. The swirls of white color are smooth. The effect is striking. The bases are lined with green fell. A wonderful authentic mid century modern treasure.
