This Bohemian cameo glass vase was made around 1885 and the process was called Lace De Boheme. Cameo Glass was all the rage during this period, but the cost was far out of the reach of most people. Florentine and Lace De Boheme were developed as a lower cost option. This piece is cased glass, white on the interior and a lovely teal satin glass on the exterior. White enamel was laid over the satin glass which was then carved in relief to reveal the color beneath. The result is a stunning three dimensional piece. The pictures do not do justice to this exquisite piece. I took them in varying light. The vase measures 12 inches tall and 7 inches wide and it’s size commands attention. It will be the prize of your collection.
