This US Glass rum pot was made around 1898 in Pennsylvania. The pattern was called Massachusetts. The texture of the piece is stunning. It is an interesting piece in that the the lid is fixed. The only opening is the wide, fluted, stubby spout. I believe the ingredients were funneled into the spout and left to ferment, and the fixed lid kept the resulting rum from evaporating. The pot measures 6 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches wide. It weighs 2.1 pounds. It is in perfect condition. An interesting piece for your collection.
