This antique French ormolu filigree adorns a rich cranberry glass on this exquisite scent bottle. It was likely made in the 1st half of the 19th century. I can honestly say it is the most beautiful piece I have ever carried. The piece measures 3 inches by 2 inches, and is 3/4 inch wide. The ormolu filigree is in perfect condition, and cages the glass firmly on either side. The glass between the two sides is thickly gilded glass, some worn, but largely still present. The glass beneath the filigree shows a slightly mottled texture, authentic for nearly 200 year old glass. The brass cap and collar show a beautifully even patina. The top of the cap is decorated with etched fleur de lis. The hinge functions perfectly. The original stopper is missing, bit I have replaced it with a functional one. This small bottle will stand, or lay down. Regardless of how you choose to display it, it will be the highlight of your collection.
