This is a vintage powder horn which I believe was well made by an individual. I have not been able to find any information about the style of horn. It was purchased in Colorado. The horn has a wonderful personality, with dents and dings that show much usage. It makes you wish it could talk to tell of its travels. It has a hand carved mouth and a wooden stopper. The rawhide on the piece appears newer and was likely replaced. The horn measures 7 inches long and is 2 inches in diameter at it's widest part near the rounded wooden plug. Quite an interesting piece.
