Gold

since 2013
A ruby and diamond "Cocktail" Watch Ring by Cortébert, c.1950's in 18ct rose gold. The dial is covered by a pierced, circular set of gold rays set with a brilliant cut diamond in the center and small cabochon rubies that surround the outer edge. The cover is hinged to reveal a white dial with lozenge-shaped dial markers, and a Cortébert marked dial. It is a sixteen jewel lever movement with Swiss marks.

Cortébert, a Swiss watch company founded in 1790 in the town of Cortébert, Switzerland, was considered to be a maker of high quality watches in addition to a supplier of movements to Rolex.

The ring is beautiful on the hand and is truly a unique piece that you won't see on anyone else. We have had the movement serviced by an expert watchmaker and it is in working order.

Dimensions & Details:

The ring is a US 6 3/4. Note: This ring can be sized up or down 1 1/2 sizes by your trusted local jeweler as there is no pattern on the back part of the shank/band of the ring. After a ring has been sized, it is considered customized and cannot be returned.

The diameter of the face of the ring (edge of ruby cabochon to edge) is 19.7mm.

The rubies are cabochon cuts and have a bright pink hue. The center diamond has a diameter of approximately 3.2 mm.

Origin: Switzerland.

Period & Hallmarks:

C. 1950's

Inside of the case marked Cortébert, 750 for 18ct gold, and Swiss marks .

Condition:

The outside of the ring is in very good condition. The dial of the watch is in good condition. With magnification, a few marks and spots are visible with a little oxidation on the crown (more visible in the pictures than would be seen on the hand). The crystal is in good condition having been protected by the cover.

We have had the watch serviced by an expert jeweler with over 40 years of watch repair experience. It is in working order. It should be wound every day and a half or so to keep time. If worn on an occasional basis, wind it from time to time (e.g. once a month) to take care of the movement. When winding, wind slowly until you start to feel a slight resistance.
