A wonderful mid-19th century beehive dough bowl. You can see the beehive's pronounced steps on the outside, and when you rub your hand over them, you can feel their smooth procedure up the exterior. Beautifully deep, rich satiny patina and lovely markings in the color. A slender crack goes up the side into the rim, visible in our photo, about 7" long with the bottom few inches very tight and narrow, barely visible. The years have warped the bowl slightly out of round along the rim, mainly visible when looking at its silhouette. This you can also see in our photos. 19" diameter across the top; stands 6" tall and the wood is about 3/4" thick. An early bowl, majestic, with impact and presence. A prize wood bowl!
