Presenting a lovely mid-century fully-beaded evening bag, in matte white with a gentle flower design in translucent beads of clear and pale yellow. There is a larger beaded flower motif on one side, and a smaller complementary flower theme on the reverse. The bag's short handle is also beaded, in white matte beads with tiny matching flowers (see the first picture). The handle is attached to the bag frame by small silvertone triangular rings. It has an off-white satin lining, a metallic silver fabric-edged mirror pocket, and silvertone satin-covered frame with a kiss clasp.
Fresh from a Baltimore estate, this delicately-beaded evening bag has had only one owner: an elderly lady who received it from her parents when she was a teenager. It appears to have been used very lightly. It is in more than excellent condition, with no inside wear, rips or stains. I see no missing beads on the outside. This bag is truly a treasure! Unsigned, and no indication of maker. It may be US-made, or it could be French, as some of the bags from that time were.
Measurements: 10” measured across widest point of bag; 9” measured from the top of the frame to the bottom of the bag. The bag is substantial, and very well made.
