This appears to be an Edwardian era sash pin, made from what I believe is brass, and set with a faux amethyst (purple glass stone). The setting is a lovely, ornate design featuring flowers, latticework, and what I would call "pointed brackets," arranged in an oblong shape. Two-part construction; the more ornate piece lays over its bracketed frame. The overlay appears to be die-stamped; the frame may be cast or die-stamped. The center stone is a deep purple glass faceted oblong shape. It has a fairly large scratch across the top table, but you have to look closely to see it. Otherwise, this pin is in excellent condition. Measures 2.25" x 1.75".
