This is a brooch that will start a conversation! It's a very large lady's hand with rhinestone-tipped fingernails and two blingy rings, holding a skinny rhinestone-encrusted cigarette. Measures more than 4" long, and 3" across (fingertip to cigarette tip). I don't know how old it is; I think it's probably midcentury or thereabouts. If I had to guess, it probably was originally a "name" piece (see cartouche); leftover cast pieces were then put into production (or sold to another manufacturer). The name was filed off, leaving a blank cartouche.
This brooch is in wonderful condition. Only one rhinestone is missing, on the cigarette, and I will try to find a replacement for you (it's practically unnoticeable). The goldtone has a barely noticeable patina.
