Vintage 1950's-1960's Black and Clear Lucite Purse

Here is a gorgeous example of a Lucite handbag, circa 1950's-1960's! It comes with a black Lucite bottom and clear, reverse carved (!) top and handle. When viewed face on, it looks like a rectangle, which folds downward, but the ends/sides are hexagonal! It is 7 inches long and 4 inches deep. The handle is afixed in the center of the purse, such that reverse carving is seen head on. The carving is reminiscent of leaves, both on the handle and the top.

The top is attached by a back hinge and the hardware is dark gold, due to its patina. The handle is attached by two rivets. The closure is a clear, enlongated rectangle, with an oval opening in the center. This is pierced by a semi-circle "button", which when turned, latches the purse securely. The bottom has four, small clear "dots" of plastic, on which the handbag rests.

This Lucite purse is in excellent vintage condition, with only very minor surface wear, commensurate with its age. This is another example of this type of handbag that can easily go from day to night wear, and will compliment so much with its classic black and white combination!
