This is the ever popular Solo in the Spotlight, #982, 1960-61. It presents Barbie as a smokey voiced chanteuse , garbed in a slinky, black, strapless sheath. It is embedded with black bugle beads and ends in an ankle length net ruffle. A tiny red rose accents the ruffle. Calling attention to the front of the gown is Barbie's triple strand necklace. The necklace is composed of silvery gray beads. As would have been an accessory in a real life version of this outfit, Barbie has a pink chiffon scarf, to drape over her expressive hand movements.
All of these pieces are authentic and original, coming from a decades long collection. They are in very good vintage condition, with the common difficulty of some of the beading being lose. The dress itself has retained good elasticity. The scarf has no pin holes. The red rose is securely attached. Barbie croons beautifully in this great look!
The pieces needed to complete this out fit are the drop earrings, long black gloves, black mules, and the prime accessory, the stand up microphone. Please check our other items for the microphone. Mannequin for display not included.
