This great leather bag is a brilliant combo of navy and green leather. It is a classic square, rigid framed, "lady style" purse, which is so in vogue at the moment! The bag measures 10 ins wide and 8 and 1/2 in long. The back of the bag is solid navy, while the twin strap handles are green, as is the bottom of the front. The opening is cool, being a bar, the width of the bag, covered in the green leather. The ends are capped in rectangles of gold tone metal, with the opening being in the middle of the bar. It is a rectangle of brush textured gold tone metal, inset with a plain gold tone metal piece, which is fixed vertically. Pushing the the metal piece away from the front of the bag clicks it open,
The interior of the bag is a pale beige hued leather. It has one zippered compartment and another slide in one. The slide in one has an original mirror, encased in brown plastic, which is inscribed Carriage Court. Right below the zippered compartment is a cloth tag, which says Melbourne bags. The bottom of the bag has brass pieces, so as to protect it.
The handbag is in great vintage condition, circa late 1950's-early 1960's. This is the style the Queen would carry, so be your own royal and have it on your arm!
