A set fit for a queen-or empress if you prefer! While all Juliana jewelry is spectacular, this parure, consisting of a necklace, bracelet, brooch, and earrings, is just scintillating! With all the quality of D & E compositions, this groping features stones that resemble hematite, set in gold tone metal, blinging with clear aurora borealis (AB) stones, and deep bronze navettes. The necklace is 19 in long, the bracelet is 7 in long, the brooch is 3 in wide and 3 in long, while each earring is 1 and 1/4 in long and 1/2 wide. The earrings are clip back style.

The necklace has a single strand of the ABs, which give on to four festoons, two on each side. Each festoon has a tear drop shaped hematite colored stone, set on the bias. Each one is banded with the ABs, following the tear drop curves. On the side moving upward the single strand, each festoon has a fillip of a bronze navette, with a small, round, same hued rhinestone, tucked between the two stones.

The necklace has a central feature of a very large tear drop hematite colored stone, point upward. As with the other festoons, it is banded by the ABs. To either side of this center stone is a duo of the bronze navettes, one atop the other. The bottom of the two, on either side, has a small, round, bronze rhinestone. The necklace closes with a J hook.

The bracelet has the typical Juliana five stations, joined by folded bands, lightly etched. Each of the stations is like the necklace festoons, with the addition of a flat, round, hematite colored stone. Each station is separated by one of the flat, round stones, each end being tipped by a round, bronze rhinestone. The bracelet has a functional safety chain/clasp and has a fold over closure.

The brooch is designed in two layers. The top layer has the same central feature as the the necklace, with the large tear drop stone. Following the round shape, there is a spiral of one medium size tear drop stone, a series of the bronze navettes,/ all set on the bias. The spiral is interspersed with the flat stones and the small rhinestones, with all being bezel and prong set. The bottom layer is a round of the flat stones alternating with the navettes. The layers are not in perfect round, which adds to the interesting texture of the piece. On the reverse of the brooch is a straight pin, which ends in a roll over safety clasp.

The earrings are worn with the tip of their single tear drop stones pointing downward. Said stones are also banded in the ABs. Each earring is embellished with a single navette, pointed away from the tip. On the opposite side is one of the flat stones, with a medium rhinestone, and a small one, flanking it. The clips are tight.

This wonderful set, emanating from the 1960's, is in fabulous vintage condition. This set was first seen in the design books in 1962. Book Piece listed in "Juliana Jewelry Reference DeLizza & Elster Identification and Value Guide" by Ann Pitman on page 175-176. Whether this would be your first Juliana set or to enhance your collection, you will crave, crave, crave it!
