Rare wood giraffe piano shaped music box desk organizer with a calendar, two inkwells, and a pen. It was made in the 1850’s in France. This is a complex very unusual novelty in amazing condition!
The piano keys lift to reveal a compartment, possibly for stamps. The calendar is in French and displays the day of the week, month, and day. There is a paper underneath that has the name of the two songs presumably played on the music box. The music box works but we never play antique boxes for long! The inkwells are attached to the piano (and do not come off) and swivel to open. The pen is not original but is included, marked C.S. Freer New York. The music box is 6" wide by 4 1/4" deep by 11 1/8" high. It is in very good condition.
