Antique sterling silver vesta or match safe in the form of a Scientific American newspaper with enameled stamp and post mark. It was patented by Inos Richardson. It is addressed to I (or J) A H. It is stamped from New York 10. Made in New York around 1890. The vesta measures 2 3/8" long, 1 1/8" wide, and 1/2" thick. It is in excellent condition with only the tiniest bit of enamel missing from the post mark stamp.
