Antique Gorham sterling silver cast bonbonniere spoon. A bonbonniere is a candy dish, this one is shaped like a spoon. There is fine hand engraving on the back which is only on antique bonbonniere- not recast.
This ornate openwork spoon has a bust of a classical woman on the handle, the North Wind and a lyre in the center. There is a monogrammed H on the back of the handle. It is marked Lion, Anchor, G, Sterling, 866. It measures 8 3/8" long by 4 3/8" wide. It weighs 7.15 ounces. The spoon is in good antique condition. It has not been machine polished.
