Antique Japanese lacquer box with gilt, mother of pearl and coral like beads. Circa 1900. This is a high quality handmade box with a lift lid and lacquered interior. The use of mother of pearl with lacquer is quite unusual and very effective. It is artist signed. It is 9 1/2" wide by 7 7/8" deep by 1 3/8" high. There is some spotting on the lacquer background. It is in good antique condition.
