Contemporary Raven pipe by noted British Columbia Haida Indian carver Lionel Samuels. It is hand-carved of argilite, mother-of-pearl and bone. Samuels is from British Columbia, Canada. The family crest of Lionel Samuels is a raven, a reoccurring theme in his work. He is a well-known Haida argillite carver. It measures 2 1/2" high by 5 1/2" wide by 1 1/2" deep.
He has three pieces in the Smithsonian Museum.
