Mahogany Tea Table from the Colonial Revival period of American furniture. This table has the look of a tea table produced in late 1700s of the Colonial period but is a solid mahogany table made during the Colonial revival in the early 20th century. The entire table is solid mahogany with mahogany pie crust around the table top. The birdcage under the table top was found on the better tables and allowed the table top to rotate and to tilt back. The top can also be removed from the center column by pulling a wooden pin inside the birdcage. The center column has spindle turnings and carved acanthus leaves. The curved legs have intricate carving on the knees and end in a ball and claw foot that is very well done. The table is 28 1/2 inches tall and the top is 29 1/2 inches in diameter. This table could be separated into 2 parts and shipped FedEx Ground...please inquire for a shipping quote. I build custom boxes to fit the item to save you shipping costs. The table has been refinished and is in excellent condition.
