American Victorian washstand made of oak about 1870. This washstand is handmade using tenon and joint construction on the case and wooden pin construction on the drawers. It has some handmade primitive characteristics and some Victorian characteristics from 1880. The outer case is ash and the secondary wood is pine. The drawer bottoms are nice original pine. This piece has been refinished inside and outside. It measures 53 inches tall to the top of the towel bar, is 30 inches wide and 16 inches deep. It weighs 60 pounds so it could be boxed and shipped FedEx Ground by removing the towel bar. It has 2 full length drawers over a double door storage area. One door has a primitive door closure. The brass hardware is original. This piece is very solid and made extremely well.
