Walnut Primitive Pie Safe with Punched Star Tins made about 1860 . Made of solid walnut, with white pine secondary wood, this pie safe was found in southeast Missouri. It is in excellent condition and is made extremely well with hand cut dovetails on the top drawer, hand chamfered drawer bottom and side panels, joint and tenon construction held with round wooden pegs on the front doors. This cabinet is tight thruout the piece. The back boards are tongue and grove and held with square nails. The cabinet stands 55 inches tall, is 39 inches wide and 17 1/2 inches deep. The punched star tins are original. It has been totally refurbished and refinished inside and outside. This is the best constructed primitive pie safe I have ever seen! The inside is painted Moss Green. This must be shipped by a blanket wrap shipper.
