Set of 6 Oak Lion Head Dining Chairs by R J Horner of New York City about 1890. The set consists of one arm chair and five side chairs. The chairs have original finish and as found upholstery. The side chairs measure 42 inches tall by 22 inches wide and have upholstered front, back and seats. Each back post has a crisply carved, open mouth and bearded Lion head. The arm chair measures 42 inches tall by 24 inches wide and has nicely shaped roll front arms. These dining chairs are heavy and very well made. They are set on front cabriolet legs ending on carved paw feet. These chairs are as found and come with dings and dark finish and outdated upholstery.
