This is a gorgeous and unusual diamond ring from the Edwardian period. Made of platinum, this unique Marquise shaped design has a stunning oval shaped Ceylon sapphire set in its center. The stone weighs approximately 2.50 carats (6.2mmX10mm.9X4.3mm). The sapphire is bezel set in a fantastic diamond encrusted mounting with elegant filigree cutouts. Framing the center diamond are 28 bead set diamonds which range in size from .01-.03 with an approximate GIA color and clarity of G-H/VS1. An airline decorates the base of the gallery, and each shoulder of the ring is enhanced with 12 additional bead set diamonds and additional open cutouts. The shank has subtle antique engraving that extents ¾ the way around. The ring measures 18.3mm long on the finger and has a very low profile. This is a breathtaking piece and that looks spectacular when worn, and could make a special engagement ring or right hand ring. The ring weighs 2.6dwt and is currently a size 6. It is not stamped, tests entirely as platinum.
