Offered is this lovely earl antique watercolor portrait of a girl sitting while holding a horse crop. The watercolor dimensions itself are approx. 8" X 6" with the frame dimensions being approx. 11" X 9". The girl is dressed in a wonderful burgundy and green on ivory plaid dress and has a becoming short hairstyle. In excellent condition. While unsigned, the back has some interesting labels/wording. The center label reads "J Everitt - Painter, Carver & Gilder, High Street Doncaster" with verbiage underneath on what he does. I believe he may have framed this portrait. There is also the name "Peter Acklom" on the back. The Acklom may be missing letters after it as part of that is missing. I don't know if that may be the painter? Or is Peter the subject?
I did find some lineage online that says a J Everett was born in 1790 in Doncaster. So many questions that will most likely never be answered.
