She is so seldom found, this doll is the earliest of the Henri Alexandre french firm's dolls. She has only the H A mark on her head and her body. Later dolls had Paris on the head and Phenix *86. This doll is circa 1888.
She is approx. 12" tall. She is marked Paris H A (symbol in between) on the back of her head and also on the side of her torso. Her bisque head is in without hairlines or other damage. There is very light factory firing lines on the side seams. Pierced ears, she only has one of her original earrings remaining. Beautiful coloring. Multi-stroke eyebrows, closed mouth with dark inset line. Original set brown glass eyes. How fantastic to find this doll with her original marked HA body! It has had some work done on it. The mid section of torso was cracked and that has been repaired and that area repainted. I tried to have as much of the original finish as possible remaining on her body. Both of her feet were broken and they have been redone. A few other paint touchups as you can see in the pictures. She has been restrung. She is missing her pate.
She is dressed in antique pantaloons, antique slip, antique stockings and her wonderful antique pink and cream lace dress. Her wig is a replaced mohair wig. Vintage/antique hat. Replaced artisan french style shoes with buckles on the front.
If you are looking for the rarely found, this one might be the one for you.
