Offered is a very lovely all original mascotte that plays french music and has a whistle in the end of the bone carved handle! Circa 1920's.
Measures approx. 12.3" tall. Head is marked "Unis France" and 60 underneath that. Original mohair wig is glued down quite firmly, but I have checked her head over carefully for hairlines or damage and have found none. Set blue blown glass eyes. Open mouth with 4 upper teeth. Marotte is very finely dressed in light blue silk with a lace overlay. Pleated silk underskirt underneath. Just gorgeous! A few darker spots on the lace, but is in excellent condition. The bone carved handle does have a piece missing at the top that you cannot see as it is underneath the dress. Music plays beautifully when doll is spun on her handle. Whistle also works very well. Old label on her, may have an an old resale label.
Marotte would be wonderful displayed with your larger bisque dolls or as a piece all on it's own.
