Offered is this delightful 20 1/2" antique German boy doll who is known as "Tommy Tucker".
Approx. 20 1/2" tall, this character doll was manufactured by the German firm of Bruno Schmidt, circa 1912. Solid dome bisque head with molded and painted hair. He has his original blown glass brown sleep eyes and an open mouth with teeth. I believe most of these dolls have two upper teeth, but this boy does not have any. Original ball jointed compostion body retains most of original finish. There is some repaint at the hip area. I could not remove his clothing due to being sewn on, but looked as carefully as I could at what I could see.
Back of his head is incised “2048//4” . Head is in excellent condition without any damage, including hairlines. He is dressed adorably in an antique red velvet hat and jacket. Under his jacket is an antique white blouse with lace. His knickers are most likely vintage replaced. Antique long onesie under the knickers. He also has antique leather shoes with buckles.
