Offered is a wonderful smiling character baby made by the firm of JD Kestner, circa 1910. Baby is approx. 18” long and has the most beautiful sky blue eyes!

Very popular mold, 226, collectors love the facial molding, which is so much like a real baby. Facial features such as creases and dimples! Pudgy cheeks make you want to smile. Open mouth with two upper teeth. Bisque head is in perfect condition and the original string that held the eyes in place is still present. Original skin wig and plaster pate underneath. I have not removed the wig as it is original and glued down but checked very carefully for any damage. Gorgeous bisque coloring. His blue sleep eyes are sleep eyes, but don't totally close due to the eyestring in back. If removed, they work fine. Multi-stroke eyebrows. The five piece composition body has been repainted. This does not look like the typical Kestner body for this mold, so am thinking it was replaced at some point. Baby is dressed in a very old blue knit outfit and cap. Stringing is loose, I was going to restring, but don't want to ruin his original wig.

Gorgeous Kestner baby doll offered at a super price due to repainted body.
