I have had this girl in my collection for many years, but she is now looking for a new home, even though it is hard to part with her!
Approx. 13" tall, she is an earlier Kestner socket head doll. Marked on the back of her head "Made in Germany" with the letter B on the right side and can't make out the letter/number on the left side. She has a face that looks long ~ I know these were made in closed mouth models, but this girl is an open mouth doll. Her facial painting is exquisite with lots of long, lush eyelashes surrounding her eyes. Great coloring. A tiny spot on her upper lip of missing paint, hard to see unless magnified. Head is in excellent condition without hairlines or other damage. She has her original plaster pate as well.
I am showing her with her original wig and also a replacement new mohair wig. Her original wig is quite sparse, but still looks adorable on her! She has her original Kestner body with most of original finish. Some repaint up on upper chest in neckline area. Faintly marked in the back with 8/0. Body is in age appropriate condition with the normal finish wear.
Her clothing is all antique and is most likely original to her. She has a wonderful pale aqua silk dress with lace collar and cuff. There is some shredding on the left arm and left side of dress. I can reinforce this with some interfacing if desired. Under this she has an antique flannel slip, antique factory chemise and pantaloons. Her shoes have the keystone marking. And you have to love her antique French bonnet with the pink silk ribbon bows. That most likely came from a Jumeau doll. It is missing the ties.
Truly wonderful and a great cabinet size!
